Volpone, a Jacobean comedy by Ben Johnson, satirizes lust and greed. Volpone pretends to be on his death bed in order to take advantage of his would-be inheritors. I set the satire in post revolutionary France, during Napoleon I 's reign. The fashion of the early 19th century offers a frivolity and humor. Although, I was not historically accurate the liberties I took set to exaggerated each characters short comings.
